Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level extension is the only one intended for personal sites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are popular by. At first, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to book john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought third-level domain names remained active.

You will have the chance to switch the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer key from the current registration provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no particular regulations on who can get a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the objective behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
