A: When your present web hosting provider can no longer match the requirements of your website, or if you suffer from regular network downtime, or if you are made to wait for hours for the client service team to reply back to you, it may be smart to change your provider, i.e. to migrate all the files for your web sites as well as your databases from your current provider to your new provider. At Squid Web Hosting, we are aware that this can be difficult and time–consuming. That’s why we’ll accomplish all that for you for free!Our skillful technical team reps will move your website content from your current web hosting provider to us. Our technicians have got lots of experience migrating websites and can handle everything – from a conventional WordPress–based blog or Joomla^™ CMS–powered website, to a highly complex, custom–made app.

A: While we can’t give you an exact time window, since there are lots of variables, including the size of the web files and databases, the location of the present host’s server, the complexity of your site and the current workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we’ll give our best to move your website within 48 hours, and in some cases – within 24 hours (if the website content is not very large).

A: We don’t require any information that is sensitive. We’ll need, however, the login information for your old web hosting account along with the name of the web site that you wish to move.

A: In order for us to begin the transfer of your hosting account, you must first open an account with us. Opening an account with us requires that you to share pretty much the same details you have provided to your previous web host. We’ve also got a very rigid Privacy Policy, which describes how sensitive data is dealt with.

A: Your web site will work just like it did before with your previous web hosting provider. After we are through with the transfer, your web site will be configured to work on our platform and we will alert you to preview it. If it is working correctly, all you will need to do is change the name server resource records associated with your domain. Your site will be migrated to us with no downtime.

A: While we transfer your website content, your web hosting provider will not be aware of the transfer at all. We will never touch base with them in any way.

A: Yep. We support all regular Linux–driven hosting platforms. We don’t support Windows–powered web hosting platforms, as we do not provide Windows web hosting services ourselves.In addition, we do not support proprietary website building and administration tools like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
